EPEC 2020 provides an opportunity for experts from industry, academia, government sector from Canada and abroad to present and discuss the latest developments in the electric power and energy systems. Platone consortium partner Prof. Dr. Antonello Monti presented the European approach to the digitalization of the energy system.
The annual conference brings together the latest insights in academic, industrial and government research and development, industrial and business trends and challenges, as well as regulatory and policy aspects.
On monday 9th, Platone consortium partner from the RWTH Aachen University, Prof. Dr. Antonello Monti, presented key results from projects within the framewok of the European Horizon 2020 program such as Platone and their implications for the future of the European energy infrastructure. Key questions in this context was how to transform grid operations to bring the customer at the center. Such transformation is calling for the development of new markets but also completely new IT solutions able to aggregate millions of players in an orchestrated system. In this context, the vision and current results of the Platone project were highlighted.
